If Netanyahu is defeated, there’s going to be a lot of gushing by the more clever members of the Support the Genocide Coalition and other birdbrained liberals, who will conveniently forget that the main opposition to him is every bit as racist, fascistic and genocidal as Netanyahu, namely because Israel is a lunatic genocidal state with a deeply sick society.
A few choice quotes and things about the great white hope, Naftali Bennett:
When running to be Prime Minister the first time, Bennett obviously had to demonstrate not only that he was willing to kill Arabs but that he enjoyed it:
“I already killed lots of Arabs in my life, and there is absolutely no problem with that.”
On a Palestinian state, he’s a “From the River to the Sea” guy:
“There is not going to be a Palestinian state within the tiny land of Israel from the Jordan River to the Mediterranean Sea. It’s just not going to happen. A Palestinian state would be a disaster for the next 200 years.”
As a staunch supporter of Israeli settlers, including the most extreme ones, Bennett has fully supported annexing all of the West Bank and “removing” the Palestinian population to Jordan.
Here is again on the same subject – for those who might not know, “Judea and Samaria” is what the Israelis call the occupied West Bank:
“On the matter of the Land of Israel, we have to move from holding action to a decision. We have to mark the dream, and the dream is that Judea and Samaria will be part of the sovereign State of Israel. We have to act today, and we must give our lives. We can’t keep marking the Land of Israel as a tactical target and a Palestinian state as the strategic target.”
After meeting Donald Trump and Sheldon Adelson in 2016, Bennett said:
“The era of the Palestinian state is over.”
Bennett has also been a vicious supporter of genocide. Referring to Palestinian civilians, and sick babies, as “Nazis” who need to be killed when asked about Israel’s genocidal policy of depriving Gaza of power:
“I’m not going to feed electricity to my enemies.” In the interview with U.K.-based Sky News, Bennett was asked: “What about those Palestinians who are in hospital on life support and babies in incubators that will have to be turned off because Israelis have cut the power to Gaza?” Bennett replied: “Are you seriously keep on asking me about Palestinian civilians? What’s wrong with you? Have you not seen what’s happened? We’re fighting Nazis…. When the U.K., Great Britain, was fighting the Nazis during World War II, no one asked what’s going on in Dresden.”
Before that in 2018, Bennett just couldn’t help himself and said the quiet part out loud about how Israel wants to and must slaughter Palestinian kids:
“When asked if he would instruct soldiers to kill Palestinian children, Bennett said, “They are not children — they are terrorists. We are fooling ourselves.”
So, yes, from one hell to another for Palestinians.
I didn’t even include his criticisms of Netanyahu – that Netanyahu wasn’t bombing Iran hard enough and was a traitor for adhering to the US peace deal.
They make Apartheid South Africa seem like Haight-Ashbury (oddly enough, Bennett, who has as much connection to Palestine as I do to Outer Mongolia, is from San Francisco).
